Guess fungal: From your description I would vote fungal infection. Try to keep the skin open to air and consider starting otc antifungal medications until you can get into your MD.

See Dr: Overgrowth of certain bacteria. Why fool around? Usual therapy is oral and vaginal metronidazole.

Sounds like BV: your issue sounds more like bacterial vaginosis. This is an overgrowth of normal vaginal bacterial and leads to a fishy odor. It is treatable with antibiotics. Schedule a visit for confirmation, testing and treatment.

Fishy odor: What you describe is a pretty classic sign of bacterial vaginosis.  It requires a prescription of either a gel or an oral antibiotic.  You will need to call your gyn.

Possibly: I'm not quite sure what treatment you are referring to. Procedures that are associated with vaginal bleeding (like a d&c) can sometimes have an odor of the remaining blood but, odors can also be associated with infection and should be evaluated by your doctor.
