i give birth 2 months ago my first period was 7 days and it was normal now this time around it lasting only 2 days it was alil heavy and than it stop ?

Period post partum: The first actual menstrual period (not lochia) post delivery is usually fairly heavy as Mother Nature eliminates all of the "extra" endometrial material and blood vessels leftover from the placenta's departure. Track your periods for the next 3 months to see if this 2 day duration will continue if you are not already on hormonal contraception.

Normal: A heavy period after childbirth is nothing to be concerned about.  Periods can change completely after giving birth.  You will just have to wait to see if your periods resume to their pre-childbirth pattern or not.  Also, birth control can also affect your periods.

Normal: Your first few periods can be heavy one time and light another. It will take 4-6 months to get regulated. It is normal.

Not unusual: It's not unusual for you to have a very heavy period for the first one after birth. Your uterus had lots of increased blood flow to it for months. However, if the bleeding persists or all of your periods turn into this, then you need to see doc to make sure nothing else going on.

Try Lysteda: Lysteda is a new medication designed to decrease heavy periods. Although not primarily designed for cramping many find relief when the heavy bleeding stops. Another option is to suppress your period completely by taking birth control continuously without the placebo pills. No period = no cramping. Discuss w your doctor.

New period symdrome: It is very common for the initial periods in young girls to be irregular and occasionally heavy. However, this is a very good time to see the girl's Pediatrician to be sure that everything physically is O.K., so don't panic yet, Mom. Secondly, regularizing periods with the pill in 12 year olds is generally not done because the hormonal system is just trying to get started and the pill inhibits it.
