we recently moved into a new house and there was splatters of paint on the floor. i used my fingernail to pick some of it off the floor. is there a chance of this getting into my bloodstream and harming my baby? i'm in my first trimester?

: This paint exposure is very unlikely to affect the baby. Lead testing and environmental testing of your home is advisable if the home is older or in a location at risk

while closing gate paint and possibly rust went under my finger nail, i was able to scrape what i believe is all of it out. still get a booster?

Need more info: When was your last tetanus immunization? Did you break the skin when closing the gate? Tetanus immunizations should have a booster every 10 years. If you did not break the skin or under the finger nail, the threat of tetanus from the paint or rust is next to zero.

i paint my nails a lot, so use nail polish remover once a week (roughly) could this be why my finger nails are slightly orange towards the tips?

Yellow nails: It is common to see a yellow/orange color on nails due to excessive nail polish and acetone. Please make sure that you decrease the frequency. Hope this helps.

Several months: Since it takes about 6 months to get a new fingernail i would coverage until there was enough now present that the rest of your finger that is not covered does not hurt.

Accepted Answer

Possibly: Removal of the nail plate after trauma usually is indicated if there is significant evidence or suspicion of a nail bed laceration.  Removing the nail plate would provide access to the laceration for repair.  Subsequently, many physicians will reattach the nail plate on a temporary basis for protection of the healing laceration.

Different purpose: He is using the hormone medication (aka birth control) to replace the normal hormones your ovary (/-ies) would have normally made so you aren't crashed into menopause post-op. Discuss further with your gynecologist for better understanding of your situation and treatment options.

my fingernails hurt all of a sudden when i removed nailpolish, is there anything to make the pain go away? any lotions or cuticle oil/creams?

Is it the nails or: the skin around your nails.  It seems that the more common cause of what you describe is that the chemical is irritating the skin around the nail, maybe from microscopic skin breaks.  Your nails themselves have no nerve endings.

Biopsy: For suspicious changing moles or marks i would recommend a skin biopsy.

Mole: I think it is best to go to a dermatologist and have the moles evaluated. Please do not scratch them off.
