Don't completely: understand the question, but a normal 14 week fetus could never be mistaken for an 8 week gestation.

Yes: Quite easily, but the baby is still usually too small and immature to be able to determine the sex.

Yes way too early: 18 weeks is the lower limit for fetal anantomy scan, most are done 18-20 weeks so u need to be patient, u should ahae already had the integrated screen or one of the newer blood tests to r/o down's tri 13 and 18  you need to be patient.

Talk to MD: The perinatologist is the best one to answer this question. Yes there is a big difference in size between a 14 wks fetus to a 20 week fetus, so yes it will be easier to do a screening ultrasound with a bigger baby. However, if you have concerns related to your pregnancy, or perhaps difficulty with a previous pregnancy, you should talk to md.

why did my fetus die in less then a week i was 14 weeks pregnant? i just went to the doctor last week  i had a sonogram and the baby had an amazing heart beat and this week the fetus is dead.

I : I am so sorry that this happened to you.

We usually never know why a miscarriage occurs.  There have been large studies done on this subject, and usually there is nothing wrong with the mom or the baby, but for some reason the pregnancy just doesn't "take".  It may be an issue with the hormones or the placenta.  Rest assured, there is nothing you can do differently at this stage of the pregnancy, but often women blame something that they have done which isn't true.

Discuss this with your doctor also, and if you have had more than one miscarriage you may need a workup, but many women have one miscarriage in their lives and have no difficulty with subsequent pregnancies.

Again, I am so sorry that this happened to you.

Depends : If there was clear evidence of male genitalia then it's a male. Sometimes it looks like one type of genders anatomy but the sonographer is not sure. So in these cases they might be wrong.

does zooming in on an ultrasound affect the due date given ? and can a 7 week fetus be mistaken door a 9 week fetus ?

No: Zooming in does not affect measurements, the machine accounts for the zooming in. Ultrasound dates based on measurement.   It is the most accurate way to date a pregnancy if done in first trimester.

Progressive: The earlier the ultrasound the more accurate the gestational age estimate.  At 6 to 8 weeks the estimate is +/- 4 days, at 18 weeks it is +/- 10 days, buy about 30 weeks it is +/- 21 days. The growth of a fetus rapidly accelerates after about 28 to 30 weeks.
