is it possible to have fertile mucus and still not ovulate? i only see mucus on my fertile days and the egg white type of mucus. is that normal ?

Cycle changes: Clear elastic mucus happens pre ovulation , mostly the effects of estrogen. After ovulation, Progesterone make the mucus thick and difficult to navigate by sperm.

OPK beats mucus: Every time. The OPK are not perfect but they are highly reliable, 'fertile mucus' is very ambiguous. I'd trust the OPK everytime.

Wives Tales: Vaginal in cervical mucous are not in any way indicative of any part of a menstrual cycle. They are not a reliable monitoring tool please do nit spend your life examining these bodily fluids.

took ovidrel on monday, told i would ovulate 2day but i have no fertile mucus present to confirm ovulation. can i ovulate later on ovidrel?

Testing: Cervical mucous is not a great way to assess ovulation. The best way is to check a Progesterone test on day 21 to see if ovulation occurred. Cervical mucous monitoring works for some but not others.

Depends : Once deposited the sperm will exhaust the energy they have on hand to complete fertilization within 48-72 hours +/-. If a ripe egg is encountered along the way, fertilization can occur. If not, the material is shed or absorbed by the body.

Evaluation: There are many reasons for not becoming pregnant. Ovulation is only one of them. A look at other issues would be beneficial.

Cervical mucus: Some women do have notice or have an increase n cervical mucus prior to ovulation, and this may be normal for you.  If you haven't concieved in 6 mos i suggest intrauterine insemination to get the sperm into your tract.

No: With thick white and creamy cervical mucus indicates that your might already ovulated. For women prior ovulation, the cervical mucus should be clear, thin, watery.

Cervical mucous: Ovulation occurs consistently about 14 days before your next cycle. If you know how many days there are from the first day of the bleeding to the next during your normal cycle just subtract 14 days. This allows you to predict when you should be ovulating. 
Monitoring ovulation via cervical mucous is not very reliable.

i had a peak fertility on my digital opk cd 11-12. on cd 17 i had egg white mucus. when did i ovulate? was opk wrong?

The opk may be wrong: The digital lh monitors are good but there can be false positives. On the other hand clear cervical mucus is a good but not perfect sign of high estradiol usually from ovulation but can be from an ovarian cyst. Consider working with a physician to check via ultrasound or blood to better know your cycle if this happens repetitively. Also when the next cycle comes or you have a +preg test will help
