Always a risk: There is always a risk of femur fracture with tha, but no greater risk with direct anterior approach, just tougher to fix when they do happen. With your age, you are at low risk for calcar fracture.

Acetabular osteotomy: There are acetabular osteotomies that reorient the acetabulum but do not actually replace the surface.

Yes : Total refers to both sides of the hip joint - are replaced often metal on one side (the ball) and a special plastic on the other side the cup. Partial is where only one side is replaced usually the ball.

Sometimes: A replacement is used when the upper portion of the femur is broken and out of place and usually reserved for older patients.  Most younger patients would have the fracture fixed and watch it for late complications like arthritis or collapse.

Possible: Stress reaction is from the different stiffness in the prosthesis and your bone with possible prosthesis pushing into you bone. Talk to your hip surgeon or get a second opinion.

Revascularization: Basically observation to start with, for very early AVN, as well as elimination of potential causes such as alcohol or steroids.  There are revascularization surgeries that can be done which may preclude the need for hip replacement.

Usually due to : Infection or adverse effect of medication. There are obviously many possibilities. Sepsis should be evaluated for in someone with low wbc, low plt, new pain at site of hardware, & systemic symptoms (headache/fatigue). It could be very serious and life threatening.

Hip fracture: Each fracture has its own personality. If there is a femoral neck fracture with significant acetabular arthritis, then the total hip is a better choice. If not, then either unipolar/bipolar is good for displaced neck fracture. If nondisplaced valgus or inter troch, then orif vs im nail.

See your surgeon: Are you asking what you should do for your muscle spasms or are you asking if your greater trochanter ostetomy or fracture is the culprit? If your spasms in your thigh are frequent and/ or worsening or associated w/ weight bearing than see your treating orthopedic surgeon for treatment. Best of luck!
