i had a femoral artery blood clot that was "blasted out". afterwards my lower leg from just below the knee went numb. what cause cause this?

Embolization: I suspect that by "blasted out" you had some sort of percutaneous thrombectomy. I worry that the clot travelled down your leg. If it is still numb, you need to be evaluated.

i've 1 copy of factor v leiden & have a blood clot in my femoral artery as a result of an angiogram, with no flow. will the clot eventually break off?

Not likely: The femoral artery that closed following a procedure is unlikely to open. What usually happens is small arteries called collaterals open up to preserve the circulation in the lower extreme ties. It is often inadequate and most often will require opening the artery by balloon angioplasty/stent or by surgery. This is often done as soon as it is recognized that the femoral artery has closed

inflammation?: Pain may be related to inflammation from recent procedures, scar tissue, or nerve irritation. A vascular surgeon can help you sort this out.

Artery : If shot in a major artery and the bleeding not controlled promptly, death very probable. If bleeding controlled and rapidly got to care facility survival very possible.

Yes: This would be extremely rare, particularly if the artery had not been instrumented in some way (surgery or angiography).  If you are concerned you may have an infection in your femoral artery, you should have it checked by your doctor as soon as possible.

Depends: Depends on how obese the patient is.  In a patient with a normal weight for their height (bmi), the femoral artery usually lies about 2-3 cm beneath the skin.

Claudication: Which means cram like pains in the calves with walking which gets better with rest and returns with walking. The distance of walking that brings out the pain is called the claudication distance. The shorter the distance the worse is the stenosis. Also, in severe cases the leg loses hair and becomes painful at rest with elevation better with dangling.
