Yes: This would be extremely rare, particularly if the artery had not been instrumented in some way (surgery or angiography). If you are concerned you may have an infection in your femoral artery, you should have it checked by your doctor as soon as possible.

Yes: Anything can get infected, but femoral artery infection is most common after instrumentation.
