Dry eye: there are many causes of dry eye. Many cases of dry eye require other forms of therapy besides artificial tears.  Fish oil by mouth is often helpful.  Scrubbing your eyelashes with baby shampoo and hot water is helpful as well. Sometimes other therapy is needed as well.  These therapies would require assistance from an ophthalmologist.

May be iritis or keratitis which needs to be accurately diagnosed. May also be a ptyergium  that can be made worse by dryness. Check it out with a specialist.

Irritation: Likely your contacts have irritated your eyes.  Keep the eyes moist and leave the contacts out.  This should resolve.

C Eye doctor ASAP : If you're seen by an eye doctor, they can evert your upper eyelids to make sure that you don't have any foreign object, or debris there from contact lens wear. Sometimes even cotton fibers touching the eyeball can feel like there's something stuck there, when it's on the eyelashes from washing make up off. Sometimes extreme dry eyes give the feeling that there's something stuck in the eye. So they can check your tear film out too.
