Time for Dr visit: "could" be a muscle spasm, rib subluxation, kidney stone.........If it is causing you pain and you can't manage it at home or it persists, it should be evaluated by a dr. (/urgent care).

Muscle spasm: Likely have muscle spasms in your back from bending or twisting. Your primary care doctor may prescribe muscle relaxers and physical therapy. Lumbar steroid injections may be needed if pain persists.

Spinal work-up: Sounds like you would benefit from a complete evaluation with a spinal expert's history and examination, and perhaps starting out with some x-rays and physical therapy focused on those areas with a home exercise/stretching regimen.  IF those not reveal or correct the issue, then an MRI may be in order as the next step to figuring out the problem.

Lower back pain: It is often caused by muscle strain. But sometimes back pain can be related to a disc that bulges or ruptures. See your doctor who may refer you to orthopedic surgeon or physical therapist or both. In the mean time take otc pain medication.

Tight low back: It is most likely that you have tight muscles in your lower back and perhaps tight hamstring muscles as well.  Often, physical therapy can be helpful.

Ouch!: Even minor injury can cause back pain,There are many muscles in the back,  Stress or stretch one of them in the wrong way and the pain can stop you in your tracks.  Most of the time it's just a minor muscle strain  But the strain causes pain, the pain causes tension &amp; tension causes more pain.  It usually resolves w/ a few days of "taking it easy", OTC pain relievers, heat and gentle stretching.

Back pain: you need to follow up with ortho doctor to rule out spondylolisthesis (slipped vertebra), etc.  Likely all you'll need is some physical therapy and NSAIDS and some activity restrictions if xray normal

It : It is difficult to say for certain. Was this a one time episode or is it regularly occurring? Are your menstrual cycles regular?
