Reflux?: Many of my patients have this complaint. Acid reflux can come up to your throat and inflame the tissues of the voicebox(larynx) which are sensitive. This causes swelling and the sensation that something is always there. But other things as well, including cancer. If it persists i tell people to get into see an ENT to evaluate.

Globus pharyngeus : Is a feeling of foreign body or lump in the throat. It could be associated with GERD or local irritation (pharyngitis or tonsillitis), and postnasal drip in chronic sinusitis. All the above causes could be associated with cough. Psychological factor could cause globus sensation( globus hystericus). Consult an ENT physician to role out these causes.

Reflux: There are many things that can cause a globus sensation (something in throat). One common cause is reflux. You should definitely be evaluated by your physician to rule out other causes should your symptoms persist!

Swallow ok?: Most important question is can you swallow without trouble? If not, then see your dr. sooner rather than later. This feeling can be due to reflux, constriction or even anxiety. The thyroid gland sits outside the throat, on the front part of the neck and I would want you to get examined to see that this is not enlarged too.

That feeling : Sometimes arises from the fact that the mouth is so dry.  If that is a factor, consider using an oral system like biotene (available everywhere) to help.  Hope this helps.

One large tonsil: May need biopsy if looks suspicious.

Yes: Yes, chronic sinusitis can cause bad breath and mucus - feeling like it is stuck or dripping into the back of your throat.  If your symptoms are chronic, that is, having lasted for more than 3-4 weeks, it is less likely to be viral and more likely to be there because of a bacterial or fungal infection. Also underlying allergies are often a contributing factor to the development of sinusitis.

Reflux: May likely reflux. Have an ear nose  and throat doctor. They can look at the throat to make sure it is nothing else. Do you smoke?  Do you have heartburn?  These are some of the questions the ENT is going to ask you. Good luck!
