Depends on cause: Of nausea.  If it is from nerve related disorder, such as vertigo, try an antihistamine such as meclizine.  If it is from GI tract, try ppi such as omeprazole.  Nausea can come from almost any source, so you really should see a doctor to help you figure out what do to.

Symptoms caused by..: There are lots of reasons for nausea, but not all of them are due to the GI tract. Even "functional" syndromes may be present without underlying "disease." However PSBO (paralyzed gut) due to metabolic &amp; inflammatory conditions nearby (like an untreated infection of gyne or urinary tract) must be considered. See doctor, esp. If persistent &amp; unexplained by diet, circumstances.

Needs more info: without an exam, I can only give general information, in general hot and cold would be signs of an infection. Overall infection signs (upper resp sniffles, with nausea and/or diarrhea) basically means a (minor) cold virus without a lot to do w. it other than rest, fluids, maybe tylenol (acetaminophen) maybe gingerale or pepto.

Why?: Are you forcing yourself to eat? That alone can cause nausea. If you have chronic nausea and unable to eat anything, then you need to see your pcp.

Could be reflux: When some people lay down, they lose the gravity advantage of keeping acid in the stomach and now it gets a chance to run up & down your esophagus. In some patients, this can present as nausea.
