what can i do to reduce extreme fatigue? right now on medication with birth pill, iron supplement and two antibio for pcos and nabothian cyst. 
also, prescribes with metformin but it makes me dizzy. stopped taking it. can you suggest other option?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated.  Wish you good health!

Fatigue: Methylphenidate has been used for the treatment of fatigue in patients with cancer,4HIV infection,5and chronic fatigue syndrome.6In an open-label trial,7 methylphenidate was reported as useful for fatigue associated with sarcoidosis.

Dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride (d-MPH) is the d-threo-methylphenidate hydrochloride isomer of methylphenidate. It is approximately twice as potent as the racemic formulation and appears to have a longer half-life; hence, it can be administered twice daily

Don't know: which antidepressant you take but sedation can be a side effect for some. Talk to your prescribing  medical provider about any side effects you are experiencing.

: You certainly should discuss your fatigue with your doctor. Consideration should be given to anemia, thyroid disorders, maybe depression and several other possible causes.

Stop med: If a medication makes you tired for more than 1-2 weeks then you likely can't 'get over it' and your doctor should try to switch it to another one.  Sometimes increasing your exercise and eating healthier will help with fatigue made worse by certain medications

fatigue, medication and hypothyroidism, what to do?

Hypothyroidism: Fatigue goes along with untreated or under-treated hypothyroidism.   Medication is prescribed to treat low thyroid function.    I recommend Armour Thyroid, Naturethroid, or compounded T3/T4 more often than other medications.   I also recommend making sure you have adequate iodine, selenium, and zinc.  I also recommend my patients stop gluten.  This is the functional medicine approach.

i m on lithium, 900mg as well as other medications. i have been feeling tired and very fatigue. how fast can your thiroid become low?

Lithium & thyroid: Clinical hypothyroidism may occur within weeks of beginning lithium, but may also not show up for months to years if at all.  Goiter happens in 40-50% of patients on long-term lithium.  Your doctor will be checking your thyroid functions every 6-12 months, as well as other labs.  Please know that depression can also cause fatigue, so fatigue alone is not diagnostic of hypothyroidism.

None are safe: in large amounts. Increase the amount of sleep and exercise you get, see your doctor, change your diet to DASH.

Not necessarily: Be sure to call and discuss with your treating doctor as it is important to assure not only the medication is working properly, but your underlying condition is being cared for in the best possible way.  Good luck.

is there a medication that can help with the chronic fatigue of getting off adderal? i feel like i can't even function and its been almost 2wks!

Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) crash: A "crash" after stopping stimulants like Adderall may happen.  I see you're also on xanax (alprazolam) and cyproheptadine, which can cause fatigue and drowsiness too.  Discuss with your psychiatrist, as you may need to taper these also.  Exercising as much as you can, can stimulate more Dopamine release and perk you up.  Also maybe some caffeine.  Have you stopped the Adderall for a particular reason?
