Very common: Following hip or knee replacement fatigue is common. The body is mobilizing all its nutritional resources to heal the surgical site and often patients are anemic ( low blod counts) due to blood loss from surgery. Coupled with the psychological stress of a major operation it is common for patients to feel fatigued. It is important to get adequate sleep and rest. Fatigue usually resolves in 6-8 wks.

6-12 weeks: Most patients will feel fatigue for for 1-3 months after a hip replacement surgery.  This is related to the anesthesia, blood loss,  and rehabilitation after the surgery.  This will gradually disappear as your activity level returns to normal.  It can be affected by age, preoperative activity level, and other health conditions.  Walking, exercise, and good nutrition will help.

Usually due to : Infection or adverse effect of medication. There are obviously many possibilities. Sepsis should be evaluated for in someone with low wbc, low plt, new pain at site of hardware, & systemic symptoms (headache/fatigue). It could be very serious and life threatening.

I suggest orthopedic: and PT consultations and evaluation. Joint pain requires further evaluation and imaging.

Not related: Hip arthritis does not directly cause sciatica.  If your left hip has been hurting and it has been causing you to limp, then your hip may indirectly affect your back but increasing the lateral strain on your back due to the limp.  If your left hip does not hurt, you are unlikely to need a hip replacement.  Go get an xray.

Unknown: The type of nerve injury affects the recovery rate.  Whether it is stretched, bruised, cut, or otherwise damaged affects the recovery.  Nerves regenerate slowly after damage and generally "regrow" an average of 1mm/day.  So depending on the location of damage and how far to regrow can determine length of recovery.  In some cases, they never recover fully.

THA mortality: Depends. Without surgery, likely death rate within 6 months is greater than 50%. With surgery, about 11% at 6 months. This obviously has to be qualified by general health, pre-existing conditions, diabetes, cardiac health, pulmonary health, obesity or malnutrition status, infection, clots, mental status, and motivation of the patient.
