Unlikely: Smoking is not likely to affect the fasting blood work.  It can affect blood pressure reading though.

i had a glucose bld test after 13 1/4 hrs of fasting.i was active during it.have normal bld sugar levl.was it a too long fasting period?was it harmful

Shouldn't be a prob: I believe you got a very accurate test result. I also don't think u did any damage to yourself. I may be wrong, but it sounds like you were expecting a different result. A negative test can be good news, but can be frustrating if u don't know what the problem is. Don't give up! Check thyroid (TSH, T3, (liothyronine) T4, free T4) &amp; sex hormone levels (FSH, LH, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone).

12 hours.: One may be asked to maintain a-12 hour fast and give the blood for testing in the night. See your doctor for other ways to test your blood sugar.

Hard to guess...: In a woman with regular periods, some causes of a late period include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (like birth control pills), hormonal imbalances, etc…  Seeing a doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome. It&#x27;s possible that fasting several days can cause a late period.

Unlikely to happen: Women get changes in menstrual cycles for no reason at all, and also for a variety of reasons. So, changes that occur during mild fasting can be just coincidental (not actually caused by mild fasting). Altering one's meal times, meal sizes, bed times, activities, etc... Is not expected to cause menstrual problems, but might do so in a few women whose cycles are very sensitive to lifestyle changes.

Maybe: Assuming that you took a pregnancy test and that it came back negative, any change in your weight  and/or physical/emotional stress (such as fasting) can delay or inhibit ovulation which will cause you not to have a period or to have a period much later than expected. Please consult with your obgyn if your period are still irregualr.

See remark: If you have symptoms of UTI (frequency,burning,fowl-smelling urine,urgency ,etc. you have to treat it
(if you're fasting for religious reason,you are forgiven when there is a medical need.Drink cranberry juice twice a day.see a doctor or a clinic to receive antibiotic

Did you lose weight?: Weight loss can alter the menstrual cycles. Why are you fasting? 
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

: Stress (emotional, fasting, job or school) can delay ovulation which will also delay the onset of your next period, which will happen fourteen days after ovulation.
