If it doesn't burn..: If it doesn't burn and it's not going so far up that you're inhaling it, then you should be fine.

Not likely: Note that there are questions about triclosan. It is apparently no better than any other skin cleanser from a medical point of view. It may have detrimental effects on normal skin bacteria. These soaps can be irritating. But it probably does not cause cancers.

what's a good over-the-counter face wash, mask, or home remedy for extreme blackheads on the nose and chin area? i have oily skin.

Blackheads: Mix one fourth cup of hot water and one teaspoonful of Epsom salt with 4 drops of iodine. Mix well and allow to cool. Dip a cotton ball and apply to the blackhead and surrounding areas. When mixture is dry gently remove with a clean cloth. This is one of the good and effective home remedies for blackheads.

Saline nasal wash: AS with any irritant, soap in your nose can be flushed out with a saline nasal wash (available OTC at any pharmacy). Follow the directions carefully and flush each nostril at least one time with enough saline solution to clear away any irritants. Complete recovery may take up to 24 hours.

Rosacea: Beyond metrogel and sulfa there are other methods to help with rosacea including chemical peels and laser/ipl. Speak to your dermatologist about dealing with advancing rosacea.

Stop worrying: Trislosan is a widely-used, apparently harmless chemical that degrades after being discarded into a form of dioxan that is not one of the forms that has toxicity or is supposed to be linked to cancer. Any chemical can be "shown to be harmful for this-and-that" if used in artificial conditions in labs. I am sorry that anyone troubled you over this.

Moisturizer: Use a fragrance free facial moisturizer to cut down on the irritation of the salicylic acid

Left too long?: If this is an acne face wash, you may have left the agent on too long, or have very sensitive skin.  You also may have an allergy to one of the components. Regardless, i would recommend switching brands and evaluating cautiously, maybe using one with a different set of active ingredients.

Ingredients?: Really hard to answer this question accurately without knowing the ingredients in the face wash.  You should review the product label for warnings and precautions - any advice as far as swallowing the product would usually be found there.
