Facial edema : Facial edema after upper respiratory infections or flu is not uncommon. Will be cleared in one week.

How long?: A cold would cause those symptoms, so an antibiotic generally would not be prescribed, because antibiotics will do nothing for viruses.   If your symptoms last longer than 10 days, or get a lot worse before then instead of slowly getting better, you might have a sinus infection.

Pain in head: Tricky but might be TMJ problems or post traumatic issues.

Usually immediately : And small amounts shouldn't cause a problem. We are pretty tough.

can bell's palsy affect both sides of the face and create problems with eating and swallowing?

Affects eating: With bilateral bell's palsy, you have bilateral facial nerve paralysis (cranial nerve 7).  Your lips will be flaccid and you won't be able to keep food in your mouth.  Once the food stays in your mouth, you will still have the normal functions of chewing and swallowing. These functions are not controlled by the facial nerve.

i've been experiencing a "tingly pressure" in the back of my head towards the left side when swallowing. it occurs randomly, why is this happening?

Unusual: this is really unusual symptoms,feeling tingling sensation in the back of the head while you are swallowing 
it does not follow any illness or a disorder that i know
my advise is to see your PCP or a neurologist that might be able to help

MD exam now: He needs to be examined asap. These injuries can seem benign at first and become serious later. 
Take him in for an exam.

Probably muscular: When experiencing right neck discomfort on looking and tilting to the left, a muscular or arthritic type discomfort is often the culprit as opposed to a pinched nerve. Because you also have discomfort on swallowing, i recommend a thorough neck exam by your physician, however, to rule out other causes.

two days ago i fainted and fell on the ground and hit my head. now i have mild headaches and pain on the back of the neck when swallowing..

Syncope: If you fainted, you need to be seen by a physician ASAP to rule out cardiac and neurological problems. While there, you can be examined, have your neck and if needed your head imaged, and receive pain treatment for the headaches and neck pain. Please see your physician ASAP. If your parent or guardian will not take you, tell them you will call 911.
