Worth a try: Some people do get quite blotchy and red after warm showers. This can be due to rosacea, certain viral infections, allergies, medications, and also simple genetics-esp if you're very fair skinned. If it's not causing you a problem i would suggest you do nothing at all. If you have to do something, antihistamines sometimes do help. Good luck!

Seek MD if worse: many things can cause - sun exposure, alcohol, anxiety, thyroid disorder, but concerning wud be allergies or infection - latter eso if fever/chills -  seek ER/urgent care if wheezing, fever, pain, nause/vomit, neurological changes, etc

See a derm: Until then salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are effective otc products for acne.

i put undiluted savlon all over my face and left it overnight, now my face is red and it burns horribly to the point where i cannot touch it.

Skin injury: You have developed Chemical dermatitis due to excess of Savlon.It is like a bad sun burn and will likely behave like one. So you will have to give it time to heal over the next several days(may take 7 to10 days). If you have a doctor whom you go for check ups, let him/her check your face for any infection during the time of healing. You will also benefit from pain medicine like Tylenol 2 tablets.

Inflammation: Redness and warmth of a body warmth is the classic sign of an inflammatory process but exactly which one and how best to treat is what only a doctor who examines you can determine.  Sometimes it may take additional testing with blood, urine, and other tests.  Sometimes just by inspection.  You should seek out a physician who can take a look at your face.  Good luck.

Possibly: Skin irritation on the face only, especially in women is most often a contact irritant reaction. This could represent a true allergy to chemicals found in facial cleansers, make-up products, lotions or sunscreens. Step one is to stop all topicals and try a cleanser such as cetaphil restoraderm or aquaphor unscented baby wash. If irritation persists, see your doctor. A physicial exam is needed.

Flushing /abd pain: Is it is new symptoms or longstanding? May be food allergy, response to MSG ( monsodium glutamate), reflux, gallbladder or rarely carcinoid. Would also get the vaginal itching pain checked out may be yeast or trichamonas  and may exacerbate the issue in part. .

Hives: Could be reaction to pressure of water called aquagenic urticaria. Ther is no cure but oral antihistamines prior to shower or  1 per cent Hydrocortisone cream after shower will help.

Facial Flushing: 38 year old lady with concern of facial flushing. Please see your MD for a full exam. When did this flushing start? There is actually a wide diagnostic differential for facial flushing and a full exam should be performed with a careful medical history. Some causes are menopause, niacin , physiologic flushing (blushing), Carcinoid Syndrome, Polycythemia, drugs, EtOH, allergic reactions. Good luck.

Rosacea: If you only have redness of your face and no pimples you can use a new cream called Mirvaso , which is available only with a prescription. It only helps the redness as long as you are using it. Other treatments that maybe more permanent include the pulsed dye laser and intense pulsed light treatment.
