: Little or no risk. Urine does not frequently transmit STDs -- in fact, urine is toxic to many of them. And what are the chances the patient has an STD to begin with? It sounds like you may be a nurse or other health care provider? If so, you could discuss this with the clinic's or hospital's infection control professionals. In the meantime, I really wouldn't be at all worried.

: Normal urine will form foam in the circumstances you described and is not a cause for concern. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.

Gilbert's syndrome: Although this may be associated with yellowing of the eyes, it is considered a benign genetic condition in which the liver fails to process bilirubin well..  The dark yellow urine is more reflective of dehydration or vitamin intake.

No risk: STDs are not transmitted in this fashion. Even if the water had been contaminated with an STD virus or bacteria, it would be too dilute to cause infection. You avoid STDs by having only safe sex. Don't worry about it.

Allergies?: Do you have allergies that may be irritating your eyes and making them water? There are eye drops that can help stop the reaction to allergies. Are you sensitive to light? Sunglasses may help that too.

But the biggest thing is to figure out the cause of the tearing and fix that.

Not really: While cool compresses can help irritated eyes feel better, you should not instill water in the eyes. The eyes are bathed in tears, not water, and water can be irritating to the surface of the eye. In addition, tap water contains certain organisms which can cause serious eye infections. See your eye doctor to determine the cause of your red eyes and the best treatment.
