why is it that my eyes tear for no reason while talking?

Dry eye syndrome: Your eyes are drying out and making a flood of tears to catch up.  Use rewetting drops to keep them wetter and this will happen less often.

: I don’t have any explanation, since this occurs so infrequently.  Do you wear glasses, contact lenses.  Do you have your eyes examined on a yearly basis.  I would ask an Ophthalmologist about your concerns.

Conjunctivitis vs ?: Conjunctivitis, either viral, allergic or bacterial, can cause discomfort along w/gunk. But a corneal abrasion is more likely to be painful but just cause tears. It's best to go see your family doc or optometrist for a complete evaluation & appropriate treatment including antibiotics if deemed necessary. In meantime, keep washing your hands b/c bacterial conjunctivitis is easily spread.

Puffy eye lids: Edema or swelling of eye lids in the morning is probably related to your horizontal position in bed, allergy, thyroid eye disease or hereditary factors.
See your local Oculoplastic surgeon for best evaluation.

Both are changes in perception and sensation that could indicate a problem in your brain which is connected to your eyes.

I would consult a doctor if this persists.

when i was young i had big round eyes but as i grew older it was narrower and not big. other asians eyes didn't change. what could be the reason?

Common pathway: Many as they age will have a narrowing of the eye opening.  This is quite variable from person to person.  Your sampling must be too small if you find that "other Asians" do not have this problem - they do.

Crossed eyes: It may be normal due to undiagnosed lazy eyes if your brother does not experience double vision with crossed eyes. Otherwise indicate some problem with eye muscles or eye movement control. He needs to see a MD.
