Accepted Answer

Unlikely: Most likely your eyes are itchy from dust or other allergy causing particles in the dust.  I would recommend that  you flush out your eyes with artificial tears.

is it safe to put a 1:2 honey/water ratio solution in my eyes. the honey is 100% pure and i would put a drop in my eyes every hour to lighten my eyes.?

Accepted Answer

No: Honey is full of bacteria.  Do not put it in your eyes.

someone blew cigarette smoke into my eyes. i forgot to use lubricating eyedrops to rinse eyes. 12 hours later i put in 2 eyedrops in each eye. eyes were very dry and burned from the drops. are my eyes at risk from exposure to smoke unrinsed by drops?

Saline rinses: If your eyes continue to be irritated, please see your physician to rule out conjunctivitis. Smoke is an irritant and saline ocular rinses may be used to relieve the symptoms.

i got vicks vapour rub in my eyes about 15 hours ago and my eyes are still burning. is there anything i can do so it stops burning?

Cyloplgia: Effects accommodation and in farsighted people, distance vision, some metabolism drops slower than others. Effect in some can last 1-2 days especially if you dilated slowly and received extra drops.

Inflammation: The heat signals inflammation of some sort. There may be infection, acute allergy, wind or chemical burn, or some other sort of irritation causing inflammation. Artificial tears are usually safe to use. Also, rinsing the eyes and applying a cold compress may help. If any symptoms persist, it will be necessary to see an eye MD to determine the actual cause.

took a trip to a waterpark, wore contact lenses. got a bit of water in my eyes, wore contacts for several hours. eyes feel ok but scared of infection

Eye infection: If an infection shoulf occur you will know it and then see an ophthalmologist.  If there is any suggestion of a change from normal remove the lens, save it and see your ophthalmologist with it.

i've tried to limit the time spent on my phone or laptop before bedtime but even without it, i lie awake even with my eyes closed for hours on end and i still cant fall asleep?

Insomnia: Sleep is fragile and as you mention, affected by stress, and varying schedules.  This can cause problems with thinking and concentrating.  Do suggest a visit with a psychologist to evaluate the emotional landscape, perhaps having a general blood test screen to uncover abnormalities.  Maybe start with more extensive interview via our virtual consultation telemedicine process, to design approach.

everyday after waking up eventually fresh, within an hour eyes start getting heavy, puffy & sleepy. i feel like to lie down & sleep eventhough body isn't tired. in evening, it gets normalised on it's own. does this indicate narcolepsy type 2 ?

: Most likely sleep apnea. Get tested by a sleep study.

Red eyes: Visine may work.  I do not recommend it on a routine basis, but occasional use once every month is fine.
