No: Different altogether.  Go to your doctor if you are having double vision or focal numbness.

No such thing : True “dry eyes “ are (almost) not existent. Eye irritation is very common. “Eye strain” is a common term that medically doesn’t mean anything. You can try an OTC eye irrigating solution (Systane, etc, etc,) or a eye antihistamine.

Be seen: You would be well served to be seen and have a thorough evaluation by both a neurologist and an ophthalmologist.

Eye or Sinus: Does your eye look irritated or red, especially underneath the upper eyelid? If so, you may have a type of inflammatory surface reaction called superior limbic keratitis. If the eye looks normal, then the problem may be an inflamed eye muscle (orbital myositis), or sinus infection (there are sinuses on all sides of the eye socket except the outer side, and sinus pain can feel like eye pain)

Double vision & Pain: If it is traumatic you will experience severe pain and double vision with eyes crossing in, out, up or down.  But sound like you had some trauma & are just worried about possibility of torn muscle.  It probably did not tear, but must see your ophthalmologist for other damages of trauma.

Rare, but possible: Depends on the type of surgery you are talking about.  A rare complication of eye muscle surgery would be disinsertion or regression in the placement of a muscle.  Other types of eye surgeries do not generally directly affect the eye muscles.

Nope.: If your eyes cross, and you are an adult, chances are that the only treatment worth undertaking is eye muscle surgery. Sometimes in children glasses are effective.

Yes, overall: Small risk of wound infection or bleeding.  Extremely rare risk of perforation of sclera.  May result in under or over correction (can have double vision).  Best to discuss risks with your surgeon.
