Treatment: You need a stepped approach to treatment. Eliminate the allergen, go on loratidine or cetrizine, and use eye drops.  I start with zaditor which is over the counter and this fails consider prescription mess such as bepreve (bepotastine besilate).  Tough cases do well on alrex.  Talk to your eye doctor.

Eye allergy: Some people will have eye allergies only for a particular season, such as spring or fall.  Others will have allergies all year round.

Allergy meds: Any over the counter allergy med should help such as claritin, (loratadine) but she should stop the gum chewing or see an allergist.

Claritin (loratadine): Good evening, 
for symptoms of allergy such as itchy throat, itchy eyes and runny nose, over the counter medications such as Claritin (loratadine) 10 milligrams are safe to take. Frequent use once per day may be needed until the end of pollen season.

my 6 month old daughter has itchy spells and when they start her nose, ears and eyes just get red. she doesn't have a rash but you can see it's irritating by the way she rubs her ears and eyes. is it safe to use allergy medication on her?

Food allergy?: The symptoms indicate an allergic reaction. Please see your pediatrician. Provide a dose of children's Benadryl after speaking with your PCP. A common cause at this age includes a food allergy. Please arrange CAP testing to include a food panel test for foods commonly associated with allergic reactions. Determine whether there is a trigger causing this reaction.

Familial?: Dark circles may also be a familial trait but nasal congestion and sinus infection( uncommon at this age)  may cause them too.   Have you talked to your doctor?

Red eyes: Some people have very superficial conjunctival  blood vessels naturally.  These can be temporarily constricted with vasoconstrictor eye drops but the effect is short term followed by an exacerbation of vaso-dilation. Surgical techniques with stem cell implantation  is being tried, which is still experimental.  Most causes of red eyes are associated with irritants. Common cause is dry eyes.

See doctor: Unusual place for fungus but unlikely to be from allergy in the absence of itching.  Consult your doctor or a dermatologist.
