Could be: could be pelvic infection STD pregnancy even ectopic pregnancy.these type symptoms should be evaluated by OB/GYN physician or family doctor that does OB/GYN if they get worse go to the emergency room

my periods are prolonged and im obese. my doctor wants me to take norethindrone 5mg to stop the bleeding for 3 weeks a month and one week off for a few months while i lose weight. does norethindrone increase blood clot risk ?

Obesity greater risk: For your doctor wanted to take this medications to decrease the lining in the uterus . You probably have PCOS which is causing a regular for you. And at times heavy bleeding you also need to decrease your weight as your weight is actually causing you an increased risk from blood clots

Yes.: Sperm can live in the body for up to a couple of days.  It is possible to become pregnant during the period.  It is usually rare and unlikely but definitely possible.  If you are not late for your next cycle (two weeks after your period that stopped) it would be early to determine if you are.  I would wait to see if your cycles starts in two weeks.

Yes: Sometimes weird bleeding can be implantation bleeding.  Take a pregnancy test and see if you are pregnant.  But yes, you could be pregnant.

Pregnancy ?: If your periods have been "regular" (24-32 days apart),  a 16 day delay may indicate pregnancy.  Obtain a serum HCG test to be certain, and to help determine the reasons for the light bleeding described.

Yes: Bleeding during pregnancy is common and often does not indicate a problem unless there is associated cramping. However, if you know you are pregnant and start bleeding you should notify your OB immediately. There are many woman who do not realize they are pregnant because they continue what they think is their period.

It sounds like an: anovulatory  cycle more than a pregnancy to me.  Take a pregnanyc test.
