Arthroscopy: No do not be worried. This can happen. You have postoperative bleeding. Use heat and ibuprofen.

Pretty normal: Stop icing. If you are still getting knee swelling you should see your surgeon. Work on therapy exercises and stationary bike in the meantime.

moms been on lovenox (enoxaparin) for 2 yrs now. she has serious bruising on abdomen which causes her pain. any way to minimize the bruising?

Not really: Lovenox (enoxaparin) is an anticoagulant. It leads to easy bruising, and the injection itself leads to bruising. The only thing that can be changed is the medication (ask if there is an alternative to Lovenox that is not injected).

I : I am very concerned about your symptoms.  Please call your hematologist immediately and discuss these symptoms.  They could represent an unusual reaction or could represent that you are over-anticoagulated.  Please call immediately.  If you develop any shortness of breath, bleeding, or new symptoms then please be seen in the er.

Call your surgeon: This is not a sign of PVNS recurrence.   This also does not sound like any problem with the surgery or anything dangerous.  It is most likely bleeding from the surgery coming to the surface.  You should still call your surgeon.  This is the best person to tell you if it is OK to ignore or needs to be checked.

MRI findings: The MRI or mr arthrogram is usually done before considering performing an arthroscopy. This will show certain pathology that may be amendable to surgical arhtroscopy.  Findings include tears of the rotator cuff or tears of the labrum most commonly.

Depends......: Typically the decision for surgery is made by most patients when the level of pain and debility is no longer tolerable despite allowing the appropriate time for healing and also no improvement with a well designed conservative management program.  Shoulder arthroscopy is only one tool available and it is always most important to establish a clear and correct diagnosis first and then the treatment.
