Best chances for successful therapy occur with close supervision by a doctor.

Exfoliating: While probably not harmful - its probably not necessary -  your skin is designed to have dead skin flake off  all the time.   Too much exfoliating could injure the skin and cause erythema.   I would do it maybe every other day and see if that controls any clogged pores that you have  -  balance exfoliating vs damaging your skin

The danger with: exfolating washes with dry skin can be irritating. Sometimes exfoliating masks work a little better and a little less irritating. Salicylic acid is less irritatiing.hope that helps
