i need advise. i have a pain just below my left shoulder blade. it occurs mostly during sleep and sometimes during the day.

its been happening for more than 3 days now.

another question, where do i go to test for testicular cancer?

Better have physical: Pain under left shoulder blade could be muscle spasm . Poor posture , sedentary lifestyle etc . Try daily stretches , Masage ... if no better see your doc for exam . Physical therapy may be helpful. Regards to testicular cancer prevention- self “ testicular exam “ and regular physical is best way of prevention . If any lump , pain or whatever concern - see doctor . Don’t procrastinate.

sudden sharp shooting pain just below my left shoulder blade and a little lower down my back. it hurts to breathe deeply or move certain ways. i have hashimotos disease and am hypothyroid. i haven't had a back injury. any insight into possibilities?

Costovertebral: It's possible that your strained your costovertebral joint/s (where your ribs meet your spine). Usually this resolves spontaneously, but can hurt with deep breathing and movement. If it doesn't improve in a few days, please see your PCP for evaluation.

Myofascial pain?: Perhaps the muscles in the back of your neck and head have been affected by the painful muscles near your shoulder blade, and this is causing or contributing to your headache.  If you have been using a lot of pain medication, "rebound headaches" are another possibility.

Exercise, ice, heat: Gentle range of motion, stretching and walking or any low-impact cardiovascular exercise. Pain can be relieved  with over-the-counter medications like advil or aleve (naproxen). Ice for about 45 minutes will address inflammation and swelling, never apply ice to the skin, always over a towel or clothing. Follow this by heat for about 20 to 25 minutes to help soothe and relax tight muscles.

Varies: There are a lot of possibilities, it can be from the muscles and soft tissues around the scapula; it could represent an irritation of a nerve in the mid back; there are also underlying structures in that area that can cause pain as well such as the pancreas causing left sided peri scapular pain.  Don't hesitate to be seen.

If it is tender, it is likely a local issue. Have a doctor evaluate it if it has been present for a while. If recent try heat at the area and either advil or aleve (naproxen).

Muscular: This could be muscular. There is muscle there which one can get tension in from stress. If you have signs of cough or fever, rapid heart rate och troubles breathing, consider seeing a doctor for evaluation.
