i've recently quit weed after 15 years and keep waking myself up with excessive saliva - pretty much choking/drowning. should i be concerned?

Excessive saliva: Possibly due to the loss of marijuana but also could be allergies or a blocked salivary duct.  Get it checked out.

i spat some pinkish saliva couple of times in the past 2 weeks have been smoking for some time but quit 6 months ago i have occasional chest pains what might be the reason ?

Gum disease: Blood in saliva can be an indication of gum disease. Smokers tend to bleed less, so your recent smoking cessation (which is admirable)  may have allowed some of the symptoms of the gum disease to become more evident. See your dentist to determine if you have periodontal disease or if it is another condition.

Yes: And you should stay quit.  Even if you are doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, you have given yourself a head start in smoking cessation.  You should keep that particular ball rolling and don't resume tobacco. Congrats on the decision - it's the single most important thing most smokers (if not all) can do for their overall health and survival.

i smoke alot and im obese. if i quit smoking on 12/15/15 will the nicotine and cotinine be out of my urine, saliva, and blood by 1/1/16?

Probably not all.: Saliva - yes. “When someone stops using tobacco &amp; nicotine products, it can take more than 2 weeks for the blood level of cotinine to drop to the level that a non-tobacco user would have &amp; several weeks more for the urine level to decrease to a very low concentration.” REF:  http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/nicotine/tab/test/. Several thoughts: If a person has blood in saliva, but non on coughing, it suggests the blood is either coming from the gastrointestinal tract or the sinuses and nasopharyngeal area. Possibilities include bleeding gums, nose bleed, tumors in the sinuses /nasopharyngeal area.

Reflux esophagitis or other lesions in the esophagus or stomach can cause blood in saliva. If it persists see 
ENT Dr first,If ok&gt; GI Dr next

See your doctor: It is best to get bloodwork and likely an endoscopy to evaluate further. It may be related to gastritis or esophagitis if vomiting any blood or an issue in the lungs if you're coughing it up.  The chest pain may be related to stomach, lung or heart issues but needs evaluauon. It is better to see your doctor to get a full evaluation.

Would see ENT: Ear nose throat doctor would do you a world of good. Your regular doctor, great in the meantime.  Would not wait till your airway is compromised to get help.

Well : Try doing a food diary to see if any of your foods are causing excess saliva. Try not wearing your partial for a couple of nights to see if this helps. Ask your oral surgeon for advice

Alcohol mouthwash: Too much saliva may occur in association with pregnancy, excessive starch intake, gastroesophageal reflux disease, pancreatitis, liver disease, serotonin syndrome, and oral ulcers.
Brushing and rinsing with alcohol-containing products may produce drying effects.
