i seem to have post nasal drip or mucus in throat after eating .i on 10th week of allergy shots .once shots take affect will this end ?

Reflux?: If this occurs after having eaten foods of various kinds, you will need to be checked for reflux.

Not necessary reflux: Post nasal driop is not reflux. Pnd comes from your nose & sinus producing mucus once in your posterior pharynx will activate cough.

Thoughts..: It could be post nasal dripping.  This is a slow, constant drip to the back of the throat from the nose - can often be helped by allergy medicines.  I also think of things like reflux which could be causing your symptoms.  If it's been going on this long, make sure you get it checked out by your doc! best of luck.

Sounds like PND.: Postnasal drip is excess mucous production from sinuses,worse when you lie down because it pools in the back of your throat. Gargling with warm salt water or flonase may help.

LPR?: Sounds like you should clear this up with your docs.  May need definitive study such as pH probe or CT sinus / nasopharyngoscope / repeat EGD if these have not already been done.  If two ENT docs agree and the meds haven't worked we may need to consider an alternate diagnosis.

recently quit smoking after 20 years of half-full pack a day. have chronic sinus congestion with thick/excessive mucus in throat. also have a dry cough occasionally and sometimes wheezing associated with laying down in bed mostly. recent normal pft?

Give it time: Congratulations on stopping smoking; you have greatly improved your chance of a long healthy life. You don't say what you mean by "recently". However, smokers cough and other consequences of smoking may take take months  or years to improve after stopping. And it sounds like you might have an allergic component, i.e. asthma plus allergic sinusitis. Keep working with your doctor. Good luck!

Dysphagia : How do you know it is because of increased mucus? You should be seen by a doctor and checked  whether there's anything else going on.

Cough: If you had a heavy cough with discolored sputum which has now improved and the mucus is colorless at this time, you probably have some residual noninfectious irritation in the trachea(windpipe).  This is best treated with a cough suppressant syrup like robitussinDM to sooth the irritated trachea as the more you cough, the more it's irritated. See your physician as needed.

Antihistamine : Zyrtec is an antihistamine used to treat allergic rhinitis. It might give temporary symptom relief but I’m not sure of its long term effectiveness in treating rhino sinusitis which may have an underlying infection. Maybe as adjunct to what your doctor or ENT specialist may prescribe
