Find a life coach: life occasionally sends us challenges that we don't have the skillset needed to master. Your doc should know someone locally that can help you explore the origin of these feelings &amp; learn how to get past them. They may be called a life coach or therapist. I expect there is/are events in your past that may be hidden to your memory that trigger these feelings. Do the work &amp; life can be better.

Go authoritative: Authoritative is typically the healthiest parenting style.  This parenting style sets limits and provides direction while also remaining flexible and encouraing growth.  Permissive, uninvolved, and authoritarian all have some down sides.  These styles have been associated with poor eating, low self-esteem, over dependence, substance use and other negative behaviors.

Life-changer: Very interesting question that can take a whole book to answer.
Children are the best gift life has to offer, they need both parents to be healthy, loved and available physically and emotionally.
Most of the dysfunction we see in the USA is due to poor family communication and unhealthy dynamics.
Children change life styles and goal priorities in many positive ways. make them a priority, worth it

: No. With the rare expectation of one of your parents having what is called a Bombay phenotype, that may look like O but could be A or B that is hidden by the Bombay phenotype, though the person can transmit the DNA for Blood Group A or B.

Yes, legally ..: Physically and legally, age 18 is considered the turning year of marching into adulthood. So, before that age, to conform social and legal aspect of life, working closely with parents and doc is highly recommended. Such an advice is not absolutely right or wrong, but reasonable for general safety and social harmony.

my parents did not set a healthy example for us as kids. they had lots of problems. one that my siblings now have also is brain tumor. how can i avoid getting it also?

Brain tumors: Brain tumors are genetic. While there is a slightly increased risk in the family members of patients with brain tumors, the overall risk is quite small, < 1%. Stress from your parents failings (we all have failings) did not cause a brain tumor. All you can do is to avoid environmental exposures that increase the risk--such as external radiation, even excessive head ct scans, etc.
