Stop using it: Monistat is used to treat yeast infections of the vaginal tract; one common occurrence is after use of antibiotics, the normal residing yeast organisms outgrow the bacterial ones, and the unbalanced state results in a fungal infection. Burning on urination usually means a cystitis or an inflammation around the urethra. So stop the monistat, drink cranberry and extra fluids; many need urine culture.

Many possibilities: If a yeast infection is causing the burning, Monistat cures many but not all yeast infections, another med may be needed. 
Urine culture can identify bladder infection. 
Spasm of muscles in the pelvis especially the tiny muscles around the urethra can cause burning. Skin infection other than yeast, including herpes can have subtle signs but cause significant burning.

other common cause is bacterial infection
take metronidazole cream for 5 days to get rid of it

Vestibulodynia: The cause of this is not known. Before making the diagnosis one should exclude yeast infection, but the topical antifungals may make the pain worse and if necessary it is better to use oral therapy. Monistat: Monistat, and most vaginal creams will run/ drip out of the vagina and will appear milky white.

Generally fast: Most people get relief in the first day or two . If you are on day five and experience perianal irritation and urinary urgency then there may be something else going on. Consider seeing an Obgyn for an exam and urinalysis to confirm.

Burning: Monistat does not normally burn after using.  The medication is working if your symptoms (itching, redness, swelling and discharge) goes away.  But if you see no relief in 24-48 hours, you will need to be seen in the office for a thorough exam.

: Are you sure the cream is the only possible source? For example, are you maybe taking an "ago" product to help with symptoms? Or other source of phenazopyridine (trade name Pyridium®), which turns urine orange?

No: This medication can't permanently damage your vagina.  Having said that, it sounds like the treatment isn't working. It could be that you have a resistant yeast infection, or that you have a bacterial infection which isn't being treated by the Monistat.  I would recommend seeing a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis and likely changing your treatment regimen. But don't worry, no long term damage.
