Implanon: Although some antibiotics can influence oral bcp's  (combination birth control pills), Implanon , a progestin insert is not affected by antibiotics, as the mechanism for contraception is the change in the lining of the womb which prevents implantation and can inhibit regular ovulation as well.

Some answers: Androgenic activity wise from high to low: levonorgestrel, norethindrone, etonogestrel.  Overall the health/safety risks are very similar.  There is some small suggestion that 3rd generation progestins, like etonogestrel, have increased risk of thromboembolic disease like DVTs.  Otherwise the androgenic effects are related to oily skin, acne, weight gain, glucose metabolism issues.

No: Implanon is meant for female.  Instead of taking a pill , you may be better off wearing a condom which would also reduce the risk for getting STD as well.

Yes. normal.: When the Nexplanon is inserted, there is bruising which hurts and the trauma from the capsule which hurts like getting a big needle put in your arm. remember your last tetanus or penicillin shot?  You can take the out bandage off the next day, but if there are cloth tapes, leave that on until they fall off by themselves which may take a week.

Unknown: Grt checked by doctor  exam mammogram biopsy if indicated there are many versions of benign lesion that can be hormonally driven but it needs to be checked.
