Etomidate comes in a 35% solution with propylene glycol which might give a false positive depending on the assay method, but this would not last long, would not likely be high and there would not likely be any concern of etoh intake around the time of etomidate or succ use.

Briefly: Etomidate=Amidate, hypnotic agent used in general anesthesia and brief sedation. It works by altering specific brain receptors (GABA). We use it when we need to have stable or increased heart rate and blood pressure at the beginning of anesthesia (a time when those things can drop quite a bit with other drugs). Different effects: Both are medications given IV (into a vein) to make someone sleep. Propofol may be used as a sedative or at the start of general anesthesia (ga); etomidate is used mostly in ga. Propofol lowers blood pressure more. Etomidate may be used for stable BP in trauma or heart surgery. Both can reduce or stop breathing and must be given under anesthesiologist supervision  with careful monitoring.

Drug: Propofol is a sedative hypnotic while Etomidate is a non-barbiturate hypnotic. Etomidate does have an effect on the adrenal glands and this may cause more nausea.

Not Exactly: What is passed genetically from parent to child is the propensity to develop atopy (such as eczema, asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergies) but usually not sensitization to specific allergens which the parent is allergic to.  The exception, which is a controversial topic, is drug allergies, but this is usually dependent on metabolism of the drug which is inherited rather than the allergy.

Sometimes: But not all the time. Nasal allergies are not a frequent cause of a really bad persistent cough. In a child with allergies and a really bad cough (assuming no fever) I would be concerned about a reactive airway/asthma type condition. If the child also had eczema I would be even more concerned.

No: The condition of being allergic is certainly an inherited property.  Often, that tendancy is greater in children whose biological mother has allergies.  However, specific allergy is generally not thought to be inherited.  That is, a parent can be allergic to food, and their children allergic to pollen or insect stings.
