No: Follow the instructions.  In fact because of the much higher risk of miscarriage associated with tobacco use in pregnancy you should stop completely before doing IVF.

If you are 36 years old and have been trying for pregnancy for over 1 year, you should be evaluated by your ob/gyn or a reproductive endocrinologist.

Also, if they're monitoring your natural progesterone levels, are they consistent with ovulation? External progesterone helps maintain pregnancy but won't help trigger ovulation.  IVF requires healthy ova for success.
