Retin-A : Retin-a is safe to use long-term. It is usually applied every 1 to 3 days depending on how sensitive your skin is. I often have patients start with an every 3rd day routine and build up to more frequent application slowly over several weeks.

Retin-a is best for fine lines so it may not have much effect on your deeper creases. The effect of Retin-A takes a few months to be evident so you have to stick with it to see the results.

i use otc hydrocortisone cream for the seborrheic dermatitis in my ear canals, but it comes back weekly. i can feel & see it. any other options?

Diet and topicals: Dietary adjustments by decreasing simple sugars is the most important way of managing this. Steroids are a temporary measure, if seborrheic dermatitis then okay to use for flare ups but topical antifungals would need to be used for several months to fully eradicate.

Depends: First of all, if you have trouble getting rid of diaper rash, stop using wipies. Otherwise, some rashes respond best to zinc oxide, some to nystatin, and some to corn starch - need to eyeball the actual rash to decide which to try first.

None: Ice cream and cookies are processed foods that contain ingredients that can be bad for your health, namely, sugar.  Exercise is not an excuse for eating dessert or junk food.  Exercise is part of a lifestyle and eating healthy and avoiding processed foods and sugars should be to.

Quality not quantity: If you are using good physician grade products you should expect good results.  If you are using too many different products or too much of a product bought on line or from a department store, the only bad effect will be on your wallet.  Sometimes you may want to combine with injections like Botox to get better results.

Suppress adrenal : Too much steroid can theoretically suppress you own adrenal gland production of steroid (cortisol). When used as prescribed this is not likely to occur.

Brain Freeze: It is caused by having something cold touch the roof of the mouth , and is believed to result from a nerve response causing rapid constriction and swelling of blood vessels or a "referring" of pain from the roof of the mouth to the head.

What does food weigh: It takes 3500 calories to add one pound.  By consuming 500 "extra" calories a day for a week, you would add a pound if nothing else changes.  Weighing yourself daily can be deceiving.  Try weighing yourself once a week, first thing in the morning, wearing the same clothes, and trend it.  You're right that a sudden increase can be from water or the bulk of food left over, but look for the long haul.
