Acid reflux : If your chest is hurting from acid reflux, you need to avoid foods that seem to make it worse. Typical offenders are tomatoes, onions, citrus, Mint, chocolate, alcohol, and tobacco. However , you will know what is the worst for yourself. Take over-the-counter antacids, but if this does not help after a few weeks, see your gastroenterologist. Good luck.

Esophageal pain: Esophageal pain when you bend over might be due to acid reflux, where small amounts of stomach acid refluxes back and irritates the end of esophagus.  If you have to do this bend over regularly for yoga, dancing, etc., consider taking an antacid in advance.

Talk to your doctor: Some medications are irritants to the esphagus and are usually taken with food or water.  Talk to your doctor or pharmacist to see if it is the medication. If is not getting better or getting worse will need a more evaluation and possible studies.

Unlikely: A complete tear of the esophagus from normal food would be very unlikely, and you'd know it if it happened (think lots of blood and pain).  Esophageal stasis is a condition where normal motility in the esophagus is decreased, leading to pain and difficulty swallowing.  The swallowing of hard crunchy foods can cause superficial but painful scratches to the lining of the esophagus.

can taking oral liquid ferrous gluconate cause further damage dangerously in irritated esophagus? it hurts badly just after taking it, but i need iron

Possibly: It is important to understand that I am is digested and absorbed after being exposed to significant amount of stomach acid to break it down hence the stomach irritation with ingestion of Ferris sulfate. There are other means of iron supplementationsuch as IV fusions.

Reflux pharyngitis: Constant mucous in the throat can be cause by a variety of conditions which result in inflammation of the mucous membranse of the nose and throat.  Allergy, throat/sinus infection, and reflux are commonly seen in patients with these symptoms.  If you have heart burn, sour taste in the mouth, belching, or taking antacids, your symptoms may be due to acid reflux.  Consider seeing your ENT.

Patience : Make sure your doctor is aware of this problem. You may have some vague discomfort after this procedure. Need to see if it persists..  Usually these pts are taking something to block acid from irritating the esophagus. Pain should not last long.

Common cold?: Could be a viral infection (most likely) but also could be strep throat. Best to see you primary care provider for a more complete evaluation, and ask if a rapid strep test is appropriate. Hope this helps!
