You are right !: The literature says both.  Whenever, I am uncertain which resource is correct - I usually turn the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It states &quot; It is not common for the parasite to infect other body parts, like the hands, mouth, or anus.&quot;. I interpret this to mean that does not mean zero transmission to mouth. In women, trichomonas increases the risk of infertility by causing pelvic inflammatory disease in the fallopian tubes and connected areas.
