Need more data: Enlarged ovary can be due to ovulation, infection, or benign or malignant  tumors. Bleeding  many other lesions. Md. Needs to evaluate  to determine the cause.

Needs to be seen: Most likely not appendicitis, but cannot rule it out unless there is a current workup.  Enlarged ovary should not cause fever (normally).  Have this worked up, but please let the er doc know what previous workup has been done.  And go to the same hospital where the enlarged ovary was diagnosed so they can refer to any labs/studies done.

Absolutely: There are a number of ways that ovarian function and back pain can be associated.  One way is that some ovarian disorders can cause back pain themselves, this can include polycystic ovarian disease.  Another way is that ovarian function and the menstrual cycle can also have an affect on other potential non musculskeletal causes of back pain such as endometriosis.  Thank you for your question.

Yes: After pelvic surgery, many times pain can persist for a few days/weeks and can radiate to the back.  If it does not improve see your doctor that did the surgery to make sure you don't have any complications from the surgery.

Probably: branches of the nerves that go to the ovaries have nervous system interaction with the muscles in the low back. Overactivity of the internal branch may cause the external branch of the nerve to react. That can cause low back pain, muscle spasm, or stiffness.

Pain: This pain might be related to your GI system, and this include ulcer pain, pancreatic pain, or pain coming from the gallbladder. If you cure the condition then the pain should subside.

: You could be having ovarian cysts which would cause no ovulation for that cycle and extend the length. Talk to you gynecologist about having an ultrasound when you feel the pain. they can check for cysts and recommend prescription medication or hormones to regulate your cycles.

i found out yesterday i have a cyst on my left ovary 4cm. but because i have back pain and they sending me for mri. i have a family holiday planned but ive been advised not to fly. is it possible with a 4cm cyst i can chance a 1hr flight? thanks?

: Flight is NOT contraindicated to women with ovarian cyst(s). Have you had the MRI done yet? If MRI was done, I wonder if there is any relevant finding which can be the reason for flight risk. Good luck.
