That's not so likely: and other coincedental causes , including a really bad diet consisting of only energy bars and not real food, should be considered.
They don't seem to have drugs/caffeine in them.

None: In point of fact, energy bars are not recommended due to the high risk of complications.Often risk of high blood pressure, rapid heart rate, and strokes exist from the caffeine and other agents in these supplements. The totally herbal products have not been tested and do not seem to work.

PREGNANCY: It is the weight gain during pregnancy that matters.Usually between 25 to 30 lbs. Added to your weight. Your OB will explain more. Energy bars are ok  if eaten in moderation.

Using this, you should carefully track your food intake, counting the calories on the food and drink you take in daily.  You can either decrease your calorie intake, or increase your energy expenditure by increasing your activity.  Clearly exercise has a major impact on how much energy you expend.  A nutritionist can assist you with your diet and provide some tools to count your calories.

They work as well...: They work as well as wearing a rubber band, a friendship bracelet, a lucky charm, or any other bracelet or item that makes the person feel better, stronger, more confident, more lucky, more prepared to meet the challenges of the day, etc...  So, in that manner, they do work.  Or, looking at it another way, they don't work at all.  It all depends on the wearer's perception.
