Completely different: Adrenaline is a hormone made by the adrenal glands that is a stress, "fight or flight" hormone, released with physical or emotional stress.  Endorphins are morphine like peptides made in the brain and pituitary gland that help decrease pain, produce a "pleasure" type of feeling and are released during exercise, pain, sexual activity.

Wellbutrin (bupropion): Bupropion is a Dopamine reuptake blocker. Stimulants release Dopamine and block reuptake, but are controlled substances. There are Dopamine agonists-- bromocriptine for example, or ropinarole; both treat restless legs and parkinsons by increasing dopamine. They do not work in the addictive pathways, though.  Alkermes has a pipeline drug for depression that works on opioid receptors..

Not good treatment: Your first stop should be a medical exam ; workup to rule out medical conditions that may be contributing to your symptoms. Next, you should know that medication alone is not optimal treatment for anxiety or depression. For most depressed patients, the effects of antidepressant medication are indistinguishable from placebo. Proper treatment is *psychotherapy* (or therapy + meds), not meds alone.

Alcohol is a depressant so the brain tries to balance itself out if chronically exposed, when alcohol is removed, brain cannot adjust back quickly, and is hyperexcited with excess glutamate, decreased GABA and endorphins, thus withdrawal and cravings begin.

: One episode would not produce meaningful damage.
Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It will destroy your brain cells, damage testicular cells that make testosterone, facilitate development of cancer in many organs, cause hepatitis, cirrhosis and pancreatitis etc. There is no safe level of alcohol intake. Quit while you are ahead.
