Endo dx: Only of there is a mass, ultrsound is very non specific tool. Laparoscopy continues to be the gold standard for the diagnosis of endometriosis.

Not usually: Most endometriosis can be diagnosed only be visual inspection, perhaps with a biopsy to confirm it. Endometriomas which are endometriosis cysts can be seen on ultrasound but usually indicate more advanced disease.

Endometriosis: The ultrasound should let you know if you have a endometrioma (cyst from endometriosis) in your ovary. It won't help if you have scar tissue or other types of endometriosis.  Those can only be identified surgically.

Sono may be normal: endometriosis may not be visible on an ultrasound, in the early phases,  too small to show up, till later phases, but still very painful

Ultrasound: You don&#x27;t need any special preparation.  If they are going to do a transabdominal scan alone or in addition to transvaginal, they might want you to arrive with your bladder full.

FollowWithGynecologi: Endometriosis diagnosis is suspected based on history of pelvic pain often during periods,pain is worse than regular menstrual pain.pain during intercourse,excessive bleeding,inferility.Diagnosed by pelvic exam,ultrasound and Leparoscopic exam.There is no blood test to diagnose it,It is treated with meds or surgery.Follow the advise of your Gynecology

Maybe: Ultrasound can diagnose endometriosis only rarely.  Usually the implants are too small to show up.  Sometimes, a particular implant is either big enough or located in a spot that is well seen on the scan.

In the: right clinical context, there are US findings that can support the diagnosis.  However, those findings are not specific for endometriosis. Also, a normal ultrasound does not exclude endometriosis.

Give indication: Xr, and anything without direct visualization give an indication as to what is suspected. The symptoms, the exam and the history makes a doctor arrive at a diagnosis as the most likely thing. If in doubt, then direct visualization needed. I hope that gives you reassurance.
