Possible: It is possible to conceive without copious cervical mucus. Every one has a different make up. Sometimes, I have been surprised by patients who conceive and I could never have thought it possible. It appears to my eyes that the clear cervical mucus did not exist and then at the next visit, we find a positive pregnancy test. I have learnt several times that anything is possible.

Not likely: Regular periods indicates monthly ovulation.  The mucous mid cycle is also compatible  with ovulation

Nabothian cysts: Kinda like a pimple on the cervix.  This is a physiologic (normal) event/variant and, like most structures in the genito-urinary system, is probably influenced by hormones.

Sounds normal to me : This doesn’t sound like anything sinister to me. Probably just normal physiological changes of peri menopause . If it’s not broken don’t fix it

Maybe: You can ovulate occasionally with PCOS. if you did and don't get pregnant, you should have a period 2 weeks later. Clear mucous at ovulation if due to the high estrogen levels. With PCOS, you may occasionally have increased estrogen levels not related to ovulation, which may make the mucous thin.

Pregnancy test: Monitor your cycles and do a home pregnancy test: you may want to consider BC pills or condoms PLUS spermicidal foam, gel or egg.

Fertility ??'s: Try to obtain a "basal body thermometer" which can assist in determining when ovulation occurs.  There are also "ovulation detection kits", so ask your gyn provider about where to obtain both.  Cervical mucus is not always a reliable indicator of ovulation secondary to other contributors to vaginal discharge.

Wives tale: It is not in any way reliable or advisable to monitor cervical or vaginal discharge as measures of any part of the menstrual cycle.
