Diarrhea has multiple causes including infection, ibs, celiac disease, medications and inflammatory bowel disease.

Burping and nausea: This is possibly due to a viral gastroenteritis which would fit the time frame of your symptoms but it can also be due to gastritis or a gastric/duodenal ulcer including a type of infection called helicobacter pylori. Another possibility is gall bladder disease. I would suggest that you hydrate well despite the nausea and diarrhea but you need to be checked out by a physician. Remember to drink!

Staph food poisoning: Staph food poisoning is caused by a toxin produced by staph bacteria. I an start a few hours after ingestion of the food containing this toxin. Typically starts with rotten egg smelling burps, followed by diarrhea and abdominal pain. there is no fever with this type of illness. It is really not an infection so no antibiotics are indicated. Best treated by avoiding dairy products and Pepto Bismol (bismuth subsalicylate).

Dreadful diarrhea: Diarrhea that is lasting 4 days in duration could be something serious- especially if there are real volume losses of fluids. Signs to watch out for are fever, light headedness, passing out, cramps or blood in the stool. If you have any of those you need an MD right away. If you have been on antibiotics within the last few months, you may need a check for C.diff as well. In the meantime drink alot

A gastric beazor (collection of food particles in the stomach) or gastroparesis can produce this problem.
