No more ill effects: generally than some stomach upset and heartburn.  You are actually always swallowing some of this mess.  I would hope that this experience would tell you that this is not a habit you want to cultivate, and you quit before you end up with head and neck cancer, heart disease and other complications of chewing tobacco.  Your teeth get stained, your breath stinks and it is altogether unattractive.

No: For starters, this will often make you sick.  Secondly, the chemicals in the tobacco are know carcinogens, so they potentially could have an effect in the esophagus.  It si better to stop using tobacco altogether.

Pretty High: Chewing tobacco is very irritating to the oral tissues. Even if you dont get oral cancer, you are doing damage to  the tissues.  There is a high cancer rate with chewing tobacco.

While the: Smoke isn't innocuous, the carcinogens are in the tobacco. Regardless of the way you use it, there are cancer risks, and risks of addiction.  Oral cancers and lip are the main ones with dip/snuff/chew. People in early adolescence have gotten cancer and died of this. Do yourself a favor, drop it.
