Allergy Symptoms: It is always difficult to predict short term exposure to molds in every individual.But majority of people including children  exposed to molds even for short periods will have allergy symptoms like nasal and sinus congestion/sore throat and chest tightness,cough and wheezing

Need Treatment: If you have had mold exposure, and feel any symptoms of that it is important to get treatment immediately. Exposure to mold can lead to fungal infections. This requires anti-fungal medication for effective clearance of the fungus. If left untreated there can be serious complications as well as spread of the infection to other areas of the body, depending on the infectious fungus.

: Jello mold? Unless you ate the mercury spilled, no effect. Head injuries in childhood are associated with learning disorders and early dementia

Low likelihood: It's possible for toxins to cause that symptom and certain molds are among the ones considered, but correction efforts are your issue now. It's good to avoid mold! Now, follow the treatment plan to deal w/ your heart. Unless you have an air-tight, high $ law suit re the mold - the causes are not foremost now.

No problem: There are 500, 00 molds and half of them are black. Unless there is an active breathing problem at this time, there is not going to be any long term problem.

Evidence lacking : Unfortunately, there is not a body of scientific evidence to support the concept that exposure to black mold causes specific symptoms or diseases. When I have a patient who believes they have this problem, i check them for mold allergies and encourage them to get their exposure problem resolved. I also check them for chronic infections and if they have those, i check immune function.

: See a GP and specialist for an evaluation (CXR, spirometry, allergy tests, home assessment). Nasal and lung treatments can help allergies&amp;asthma. Most people recover fully. MOLD Allergy testing: Immunocap ige is a blood test which can measure multiple different allergies including mold, animals, and  food allergies. However, it does have 'some' limitations and seeing allergist is your best bet.

Everyone does: Mold exposure is very common. Every time you are outside you get some mold exposure. In fact, most mold exposure is outdoors, not indoors. Mold is found in grass, leaves, compost, mulch, and may be stirred up the wind  or by activities like mowing, raking, or sweeping. Indoor mold is the result of a damp indoor environment. To reduce mold indoors the source of the moisture has to be eliminated.
