TSH 28: You can be surprisingly asymtomatic with hypothyroidism but  on  a cellular level the body is not at optimal performance and over a long time it will take its toll . Please f/u w/ you endocrinologist and take your thyroid medicine.

18 months after thyroidectomy , my tsh is 30. my dr just increased my armor. my throat is really achy. is that a symptom of high tsh?

High TSH: is an indication of hypothyroidism.  It can cause many symptoms, but achy throat is not one of them.  You should consult with your doctor, so he can investigate other possible causes.  Good news is that hypothyroidism is readily correctable with increased thyroid medication.

i had fatigue that went on a couple weeks so i tested for covid, it was negative. blood work was normal except high tsh. now its been a month, fatigue has gotten better but now im having some itching and one lymph node is slightly bigger. thoughts?

Normal thyroid tests: Normal TSH level indicates normal thyroid function in the majority of cases. Normal free t3 (liothyronine) and normal freet4 usually support the fact. Total T4 (t4) can be high without excess thyroid when the thyroxine binding globulin (tbg), a thyroid hormone carrier, is elevated, as in pregnancy and while taking a bcp. Then t3 (liothyronine) (resin) uptake (t3 (liothyronine)u) is low and fti normal (tests now outdated should not be checked.

What's the next dose: Don't think so. More likely it is because 0.025mg is the smallest Synthroid (thyroxine) pill. Synthroid (thyroxine) comes in about 12 sizes, from 0.025mg to 0.300mg. If one's doctor started her on 0.025mg and there is no drop in the TSH, one can ask at her follow-up visit (there is always a lot of follow-up until the proper dose is found and the TSH is normal) what the next dose is.

hi. would subclinical hypothyroidism need to be treated with levothyroxine? i have been spotting off and on for 6 months. sometimes very red blood heavy bleeding and sometimes brown red smelly discharge. ive been tested for thyroid. slight high tsh.

This could help: with ovulation regularity, also could be insulin resistance issues as well.  Testing and treatment with your doctor is the best plan, also to get best treatment for the discharge.

Not much: Any lab can have a temporary problems doing any test accurately.  That is why an abnormal level should always be repeated to verify it.  There are temporary causes for high TSH (resolving subacute thyroiditis), so that a 2nd TSH level done a few weeks after an abnormal one, could be normal.  Subclinical hypothyroidism will have a high TSH with other thyroid levels normal, no symptoms.
