Yes: Epstein-barr virus is the cause of the disease infectious mononucleosis, or "mono".  Nausea and vomiting don't occur in every case, but if liver enzymes such as alt are elevated, are fairly common.

May be sltly enlgd: The spleen is normally protected by the rib cage.  Splenomegally is common with EBV.  As you recover from EBV, your spleen should return to normal.

Not with all viruses: Mononucleosis does cause splenic enlargement but all viruses do not cause splenic enlargement.But there are others beside the Ebstein Barr Virus which causes mononucleosis.Cytomegalo virus causes it.But you say it get enlarged whenever he is sick.I suggest you discuss with your pediatrician if it is of concern.If it goes down after his illness .then I see no problem.Discuss with his Pediatrician

Common: many people have what you have, the slightly enlarged spleen can be due to some current or previous infection, and gall bladder stones are seen in many patients during routine imaging studies. Several Things: The list is fairly long.  An enlarged spleen (splenomegaly) can be caused by many things.  Patients with cirrhosis can develop splenomegaly.  Certain cancers - such as lymphoma, myelodysplastic disease, etc..  Infections (mononucleosis, parasites, TB).  You should discuss this with your doctor.

Not usually: An UGI may incidentally note something pressing on the left side of the stomach and raise the suspicion of an enlarged spleen. A ct scan or abdominal ultrasound  would be able to confirm the diagnosis.
