Three to Seven: Most early ultrasounds are very accurate, to within a week of conception.  If you know when you conceived, and it is within a week, your OB will generally use your LMP date rather than the ultrasound due date.

Not necessarily: A term baby is 37 to 42 weeks.  A five week window. The earlier the us the more accurate, but still only within one week. 

85 percent of women will deliver in the 5 week window. 

To answer, no it doesnt mean your conception date is off.

Conception ?: With an LMP of "05/05/18" and an ultrasound on 06/15/18 showing fetus at "5w6d",  the probable conception occurred between May 17 and May 21, which allows for the life of viable sperm occurring just prior to ovulation, and the length of time the egg is available for fertilization.

No: The due date is just a estimated date of when the full pregnancy will be complete. There are many factors that can lead to an early birth and often a baby can be late for no reason. The due date is only the date that completes 9 months. That's all.

Varies: I would say that us can be off by a few weeks sometimes especially early on in pregnancy evaluation. You might want to see if OB wants to repeat us later to see if dates are correct.

Sometimes: The ultrasounds are accurate + or - 2 weeks. That is why we use other parameters to ferret out accurate conception and delivery dates.

Conception: If the quality of the imaging is good I do not believe that conception can be calculated and will be off by no more than three or four days at the very most. Usually it's with in a couple of days.

Accepted Answer

You ovulate when: Your body decides it is right for you.  That might be a day or 2 later than what is called average.  But, if your cycle is a day or 2 more than the average of 28 days, that makes sense.  Most women ovulate approximately 14 days before the first day of their next menses.
