Many have no Sx: Hpv can pass from one to another with no symptoms at all. Some strains will persist in the body for decades & only be recognized when cell changes on a pap smear suggest precancerous growth. Some strains will produce skin bumps that can grow into wart like growths on the genitals(male or female) & spread over time.

Variable: There may be no symptoms at all. For those who acquire a cancer producing strain the  pap smears may be the first issue & later show the effects of the disease. If external forms are acquired, lesions vary early from small pimple like bumps to large wart like clusters of material that both thicken & spread. You may have an exceedingly foul smelling discharge.

Usually not.: Most people do not have any signs or symptoms when they are infected with hpv. A subset of people who get the infection may clear the infection as well. In those where the infection persists, there may be signs such as genital warts, which occur with some types of hpv, of  which there are over 100 varieties. Hpv testing is available through your physician, and you may be eligible for the vaccine.

: By self examination or, in the case of oral infection, by periodic examination by your doctor or dentist. If you have had receptive anal intercourse with other men, ask your doctor about anal Pap smear. If not vaccinated against HPV, do that now; the vaccine prevents infection with the 9 HPV types that cause 90% of HPV related cancers and genital warts. But don't worry:  all HPV cancers are rare.

Genital warts: Probably not. The opposite probably is true, because of the obvious differences in genital anatomy. Warts in the vagina often aren't noticed, and it's not easy to see much of women's genital areas.

hpv vaccinated female. husband had hpv with wart for over a year. i have had no symptoms. is it ok to just let the warts go away on their own? does it increase my chances everytime we have sex?

: The HPV vaccine provides 100% protection against the two HPV types (HPV 6 and 11) that cause 90% of genital warts. Assuming you had your husband have been having sex regularly, you have been repeatedly exposed to the HPV causing his genital wart and probably are immune. There is no point in altering your sexual frequency or practices at this time. It will not further reduce your low risk.

Orifice issues: If oral sex was a factor, warts(hpv) have been known to infect the areas around the mouth. If no oral sex exposure hpv will be confined to the cervix, vulva or vagina.

: cancer 'cure' is still not accurately predictable in any form of cancer
