If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Rare: It is rare to get pregnant after tubal ligation, if fertilization  occurs by chance it is possible to have tubal pregnancy, then high chances the embryo getting lodged in the tube.

Normal.: Irregular periods after a pregnancy are very common and due to irregular ovulation - nothing to do with your tubal ligation. Chance of becoming pregnant with your tubes tied is 0.3% (1/300). If still in doubt, see your gynecologist and repeat another pregnancy test in a week.

Since pregnancy risk is higher for an ectopic pregnancy, you should immediately check a pregnancy test, if positive, see your doc today or go to the er.  Since you had a tubal ligation done, a positive test means an ectopic pregnancy until proven otherwise.  Good luck and don't delay. Tubal rupture can be life threatening.
